Carme Magem Prat was born in St Vicenç de Castellet (Barcelona) were she lives until the end of the 80’s. Now she lives in St Cugat del Vallès.

Her Artistic education begins very early at Cercle artistic de Manresa, continues in Sabadell and finally at the Escola Municipal d’Art in St Cugat del Vallès.

At the same time, she attends university where she gets her degree in  nursing and specializes in ginecology and obstetrics. She has worked as a midwife since 1981. 

Her career has been always divided between the medical world and the artistic world.

Her artworks has been exhibited in galleries from Barcelona, Vitoria, Lleida, Zaragoza, Sevilla, Oman, Emirates ect… She also took part in prestigious international art fairs such as ST-Art Strasbourg, Salon des Antiquaries Nancy, Lille Artfair, Abu Dhabi Art fair, Affordable Artfair in Singapur, London, NY ect…

For a long time, she worked mainly oil painting and drawing and over 15 years ago she got into collage world achieving her own technique, which combine both disciplines : oil painting and collage, creating a particular and characteristic effect in her art pieces.

Immersed more and more in this technique, investigating and delving into all its possibilities, she deals with several subjects, among which stand out female figure, portrait and the expressivity of the different faces she paint.

Portrait is a significant part of her work : Mythical characters of cinema, art, culture and social struggle and also private works upon request.

She has lately collaborated with diferents publications and her works have been front cover of books and magazines at both national and international level.
